In short
Stair Lords needs very little about you to let you play: a random code for your device, the name and portrait you pick, and your matches. If you link a Google account, we keep only its identifier, to recognise your profile. No advertising, no analytics, no tracking, nothing sold or shared. You can delete your account from the game at any time.
Who is responsible
The data controller is Gabriele Muscas, Italy, who develops Stair Lords as an individual. For anything about your data write to privacy@stairlords.app.
What we collect and why
| Data | Why |
|---|---|
| Device code: a random code the game creates on first launch and keeps on your device | It is how you sign in as a guest, without registering. |
| Profile: the name you choose (at first «Giocatore» and a number) and one of the game's portraits | Shown to you and to the other players. |
| Game data: matches played with their results and statistics, career totals and awards, friends, friend requests, blocked players, your group (Party), whether you are online, searching or playing | Running matches, your profile and statistics, friends and groups. |
| Leaderboard: a skill rating calculated from your results in public matches against other players (bots and members of your Party do not count), your points, your position and your matches and wins of the current season | The monthly leaderboard and the points shown after each match. |
| Google account identifier, only if you choose «Continue with Google» | Recognising your profile when you sign in on another device. |
| Game version, sent when you connect | Telling you when an update is needed. |
| Technical logs of the server (for example connection errors), with the identifiers involved | Keeping the service running and secure. |
We do not ask for your real name, age, location, contacts or phone number, and the game shows no advertising.
Signing in with Google
Linking is optional: without it you play as a guest. When you choose «Continue with Google», Google confirms your identity to us and shares your account identifier, email address, name and picture. We keep only the account identifier. The email address is removed from our server right after linking; your device remembers it just to show it in the Account screen. We do not use your Google name or picture. We never see or store your Google password. Google processes your sign-in under its own privacy policy.
What other players see
Your name and portrait, your matches' results, your profile (number of matches, wins, awards), your leaderboard points and position with the season's matches and wins and, for your friends, whether you are available, searching or playing. Never your Google account or your email.
Where the data is kept
On our server at Hetzner Online GmbH in Nuremberg, Germany (European Union), which hosts it on our behalf. We do not transfer the game's data outside the European Union, and we share it with no one.
If you write to us, your message goes through the ImprovMX forwarding service and reaches a Gmail mailbox (Google), which handle it under their own policies, possibly outside the European Union. We use it only to answer you.
Legal basis
The data is needed to provide the game you asked to play (performance of a contract, GDPR art. 6.1.b). Technical logs are kept for our legitimate interest in a secure, working service (art. 6.1.f).
How long we keep it
Your profile and game data stay until you delete your account. Technical logs are overwritten after a short time.
Deleting your account
In the game open your profile, then Account › Delete account: your profile, statistics, match history, leaderboard rating and position, friends and the links with Google and your devices are deleted at once, on every device. The match summaries other players keep for statistics remain, but without your name and with an identifier that leads to no one. You can also ask us by email.
If you uninstall the game without linking Google, your guest profile can no longer be reached: delete it from the game first, or write to us.
Your rights
You can ask to access, correct, delete or receive a copy of your data, and object to or limit its processing, by writing to privacy@stairlords.app. You can also lodge a complaint with a data protection authority; in Italy it is the Garante per la protezione dei dati personali.
Children
Stair Lords is not meant for children under 14. If you are younger, ask a parent before playing.
